Common Questions

Questions We Hear Often

Who are these programmes intended for?

The programmes are designed for Hong Kong residents who are in midlife and want a clearer understanding of Asia-Pacific markets — people who have some savings or a portfolio, but who feel they lack the structural literacy to evaluate their options well. No professional background in finance is required.

Do the courses give investment recommendations?

No. Monsoon Counsel is an educational provider, not a licensed investment adviser. The programmes focus on structural literacy — understanding how markets work, what their histories look like, and how they relate to each other — rather than on which securities or funds to buy or sell at any given time.

How are the courses delivered?

Sessions are held at our Kwai Fong office or remotely via video — depending on participant preference and cohort composition. Materials are provided in print and digital form. Written exercises are completed between sessions and reviewed in the following week.

What does it cost, and are there payment options?

The Foundations programme is HKD 1,780, the Allocation programme is HKD 2,580, and Regional Markets in Depth is HKD 3,200. Payment is accepted by bank transfer or FPS at the time of enrolment. We don't currently offer instalment arrangements, but please contact us if your situation warrants a conversation.

Can I do the programmes in order, and over what timeframe?

Each programme is independent — you may join any of them without having completed the others. That said, many participants find it natural to begin with Foundations and proceed from there. Programmes run in cohorts of modest size, typically three to five times per year. Enquire to find out when the next cohort opens for the programme you're interested in.

What is your refund or withdrawal policy?

Participants who withdraw more than seven days before a cohort begins receive a full refund. Those who withdraw within seven days of the start date are offered a credit toward a future cohort. Once a programme is underway, fees are not refundable but credits may be applied in exceptional circumstances. Please contact us to discuss your situation.
